But Giron also pointed out that it is important for public bodies, particularly the government to invest on development and research incentives for the cloud computing industry in Europe to continue its upward trend. The industry needs the support of governing bodies if it is to continue growing in the next decade.
Providing sufficient funding and support for research initiatives on cloud computing is one of the main challenges that the European Commission should expect to address in the coming years, he adds. Over the next few years, it is important for the region to be able to remove this hindrance to the growth of the cloud sector.
Meanwhile, environmental effects have been pointed as some of the major barriers that are hindering cloud computing success. This is according to a separate study by Jisc TechWatch.
