Have you heard of the know-like-trust factor? It’s the ONLY reason why prospects convert to clients!
Prospects who come across your products and services for the first time will only buy from you when they get to know you, like you and trust you. This therefore means that amongst other things, you have to build CREDIBILITY in the marketplace.
But how do you do that without breaking the bank?
The easiest and most profitable way to fast track your credibility in the minds of your prospects and clients, is by implementing joint venture marketing in your small business. This involves joining forces with a reputable business e.g. a key player in your industry (your joint venture partner), so that you can piggyback on their credibility and shine in their glow.
How will that be of benefit to your business?
Your joint venture partner would have probably spent years building a good reputation within their industry. They therefore have influence and credibility with their clients. By partnering with them, you’ll be tapping into this resource.
You’ll enhance your credibility and reputation as a direct result of associating with a respectable joint venture partner. This will subsequently magnetize more clients, more sales, and more profits to your business!
Why would another business be interested in partnering with your business?
Because joint venture marketing is about combining business resources like credibility, time, capital, expertise, skills, and so on, to create a win-win situation that will benefit the businesses involved, and benefit their clients at the same time.
Talk show host, Dr. Phil, was a virtually unknown psychiatrist before Oprah Winfrey introduced him to the world. He gained credibility as a result of Oprah’s influence. The case study section of this article explains why a world-renowned mogul like Oprah Winfrey would partner with an unknown psychiatrist.
How do you know whether a potential joint venture partner is respectable?
* Find out what the media, and their prospects and clients think about them
* Examine their business ethics
* Review and ensure that their products and services are of high quality
* Evaluate their customer service standards
It’s imperative to ensure that your potential joint venture partners are reputable. Associating with a business that has a bad reputation will hurt your own business, and that defeats the purpose of increasing your credibility.
Here’s A Case Study…
Oprah Winfrey knows what her audience wants to watch, and therefore created a strategic alliance with Dr. Phil, a psychiatrist who was a virtually unknown doctor before appearing on Oprah’s show, and had never been on television.
He started doing guest appearances on her show and his “tell it like it is” style was very popular with Oprah’s audience. Over time, the audience wanted to see more and more of Dr. Phil. Eventually, Oprah offered to produce a show for Dr. Phil, and he began a daily afternoon talk show of his own.
Dr. Phil has benefited from this alliance by gaining exposure and CREDIBILITY through Oprah’s influence. Oprah has benefited by adding another program to her empire, and getting a percentage of the profits from that show. And, the television audience enjoys getting a program that offers free advice and real-life case studies that affect their lives. They would otherwise have to pay thousands of $$$ for private sessions with Dr. Phil.
This case study illustrates what I call a win-win-win situation that can only be provided through the power of joint venture marketing.

Give your home a natural color with use of cedar. The cedar wood is available in red and white wood. It is used for railing extensively where natural wood is preferred. Read about cedar wood in this article.
Colored Railings, Cedar Railings
Cedar is the type of wood that requires the least maintenance. The only maintenance that you might require with cedar is application of lacquer every three years and this application just takes just 15 to 20 minutes per 1000 square feet. The cedar wood keeps looking at its best with minimum maintenance for a long time.
Some Information About Cedar
Cedar trees are similar to fir trees and are grown in many areas of the world. Native to the Himalayan range, they are also found in the Mediterranean region. Trees grow to a height of 50 meter with evergreen leaves up to 3 feet long. The leaves are similar to fir tree leaves and the trunk of the tree may grow from 1 to 2 feet in diameter occasionally bigger. The varieties of cedar wood are, Deodar Cedar, Lebanese Cedar, Turkish Cedar, Cyprus Cedar, Or Atlas Cedar.
DIY Cedar Railings
There are many suppliers of Cedar wood if you wish to do a DIY railing of Cedar. These railings come pre cut and all you have to do is to install them at the desired place. The supplier will have to be given a map showing the dimensions of the area to be enclosed with railings and other information so that the railings can be manufactured and shipped to your house in knocked down condition.
All that you will have to do to make a nice looking railing is to assemble it as per manufacturer’s recommendation. Some trimming may be necessary here and there and since it is wood that can be easily worked, cedar does not present problem for a DIY enthusiast who has some experience in woodworking. You can easily make nice looking cedar railings.
Care of Cedar Railings
The beauty of cedar railings can be maintained if you take the precaution of keeping the moisture from cedar wood. The cedar wood offers not just the beauty and fine-grained wood finish but it also gives you a sweet smell.
The most famous place where scented cedar is used extensively is King Solomon’s temple in Jerusalem. It was built in 1000 BC, so the durability of cedar wood is established beyond doubt. You only have to take minimal care to see that the moisture is kept out of the area.
Choices in Cedar Railings
Popular cedar railings are milled cedar and hand peeled cedar. The peeled cedar gives you the natural feeling and it retains the natural characteristics and is more resistant to decay. During the season, the bark starts peeing off naturally and at this time the bark is peeled off by hand completely and the trunk of cedar tree is used for making railings. This way the natural look and scent of cedar tree is retained. The other variety is the milled cedar. Because of milling the look is smoother compared to the hand peeled cedar.
Cedar is available in white and red cedar variety. While there is some discoloration of the red cedar, there white cedar generally remains true to its color over the life of railings. Cedar can have a good life if used properly and moisture kept out of the vicinity of cedar wood.

November 6, 2005 Though its bitter image has been internally and globally brainwashed, Cambodia does need and always needs to proceed further. But why Cambodia is flowing on the destitute side of the prosperous ocean of materialism?
Resurgent Cambodia, for me, does need cooperation, solidarity and integrity from both the neighbors and the world. But one reason, I have found why Cambodia is lacking behind other regional countries and other countries in term of foreign direct investment, diplomacy, inter-state trades and other kinds of grouping, is that Cambodia does not have enough court to settle all kinds of problem. Currently, we have only one court that settles all kinds of dispute (except the military court). How can one court be able to settle all kinds of problem? Can one person be expert in all fields, and can we trust that the justice does prevail when one judge decide all matters?
This article is not to criticize, but to improve, as well as the lesson for the world.
Indeed, Cambodia, a new country in the global map, but not new in reference to the world’s history, does need solid justice system to guarantee the stability of the entire country. This stability will be prevailed, in my view, when justice is at least acceptably satisfied to the people. And how to make justice prevailed? Willingness of the government is the very initiative for every public good.

Building a snowboard rail is not as difficult as it may seem. The main thing your going to need is a long narrow piece of metal railing. If you don’t want to buy a railing you can probably find one at a junkyard.
Once you have your railing you need to pack some snow up on the side of it. So you have a soft landing, be certain that you pack snow on both sides of the railing. Grinding rails is more difficult to do with a big snowboard than with a smaller skateboard.
Did you know that snowboarders got the idea to grind rails from skateboarders. Yep, snowboarders saw how much fun the skateboarders were having and wanted to start grinding themselves.
Now that you know how to build your own snowboard rail, make sure to gain enough speed, you have a long wide open area. You’ll fall if your going too slowly. But don’t worry, just keep trying and eventually you’ll get it right.

Harsh statistics reveal that obesity is at record levels in the USA, with many European countries following where America leads. Those of us who aren’t obese could probably do with shedding a few pounds as well, but the thought of giving up our beer or reducing our snack intake doesn’t bear thinking about.
Before we look at the easiest way to lose weight it’s useful to look at some of the facts about being overweight. Being overweight increases your chances of a heart attack or stroke, type 2 diabetes, back problems, high blood pressure, gallbladder problems, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, respiratory problems and some forms of cancer.
The first step on the road to loosing a few pounds is to condition your mind to the fact that you DO really want to lose weight! It is important to realise that you didn’t put these extra pounds on in the last week or the last month but over a period of time. It is therefore important to condition yourself to the fact that you are not going to lose those extra pounds in a few days or a few weeks! TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND KEEP THE POUNDS OFF IT’S GOING TO INVOLVE A LIFESTYLE CHANGE.
That’s the bad news, but the good news is you can cheat and make it easy on yourself. The secret of losing weight is really very simple - you eat less! Researchers in the UK were confounded by the Atkins diet. How could people eat as much as they wished so long as it was in the diet plan? After years of analysis they stumbled across the answer - people on this diet actually did eat less and so lost weight.
Your body is like a finely tuned machine, it needs energy to function. This energy is derived from the food we eat. If we eat more food than we ‘burn’ off it is stored as fat. Simply sitting around doing nothing uses energy - but not much, walking uses more and aerobic exercise uses even more. That’s why combining exercise with eating less will increase the rate you will shed those unwanted pounds.
The first step is to make diary of what you eat and when. If you can’t be bothered to write it down you can go over it in your mind. Do this for about a week. It is important you become aware of your eating habits and how you are going to change them.
Once you have made your diary select something you can cut out or reduce the quantity you eat. Your ideal would be to replace all between meal snacks with fresh fruit and try hard not to have such large helpings at your main meals. The best diet is to leave the table just before you get that full up feeling.
Set yourself a realistic target of losing 12 to 30 pounds over the next year. Ideally the lower the target the more likely it is that you will achieve it. Your skin will readjust to a modest weight loss a lot easier than it would to shedding a lot of weight. You will be changing your diet gradually and so it will be much easier to stick to.
Imagine after making your diary a typical days eating went something like this:
Breakfast - fruit juice followed by bacon and egg and toast.
Mid morning snack: candy bar with cola.
Lunch - Pizza and cola.
Mid afternoon snack - coffee and doughnut
Dinner - Chinese take away
Evening - 2 to 3 beers and some snacks.
Although this may be nothing like your eating habits for illustration purposes we will assume it is. Your eight step plan would then be something like this.
Step One. Start off by cutting out either the candy bar in the morning or the doughnut in the afternoon. See how this goes. Check your weight regularly. After a month if you haven’t lost weight you are cheating too much!
Step Two. After a month now that you have shed a pound or two it is time to start easing in diet drinks or water instead of fizzy drinks.
Step Three. Try to eat at least five pieces of fruit and vegetables each day. Introduce fruit in place of your mid day snacks.
Step Four. If your main meals are mostly supermarket convenience meals or take away meals start looking for healthier options. Look for low fat, low salt and low sugar content in the supermarket convenience meals and go for average portions in take away meals. Cut down on the amount of French fries you have with meals.
Step Five. Reward yourself with 3 squares of dark chocolate each day, preferably with a high cocoa content (70%). The flavanoids in dark chocolate are important for a healthy heart. Use this as a substitute for your mid-day snacks or to replace after meal desserts.
Once you’ve adjusted to a modest change and hopefully a few pounds lighter then its time to consider a lifestyle change.
Step Six. If you do not have enough fibre in your diet it’s time to start introducing some and what better time of the day to begin than at breakfast. Replace the fry up with high fibre cereal. Eat multigrain or whole wheat bread. Don’t forget to cheat at the weekend and have you favourite fry up!
Step Seven. Drink only diet drinks, replace sugar with no sugar or use a sweetener in coffee or tea. Introduce a glass of red wine into your daily diet - swap this one for one with one of your preferred alcoholic drinks. Week-ends tend to be a big self reward time. Try to moderate the food and drink input at these times.
Step Eight. Ensure you have a good workout at least twice a week to get the heart rate up. Walk , cycle or run at least one mile a day.
Once you’ve done all this examine the lifestyle changes you’ve made and find out the best healthy eating diet and exercise plan to suit your needs in keeping your weight under control.

Starting a business, whether it’s retail products or
services, must establish their own “niche”. It doesn’t
matter how great your products or services is, how great your sales letter is or your headlines, offers or what a great price you’re offering. If you try to sell your products or services to the wrong market, there’s a strong guarantee it’s not going to work.
What is a niche? A niche is a particular specialty in whicha business or person finds they prosper. Niche strategy inmarketing is to market to a small but lucrative portion ofthe market. The small size of the niche generally ensures efficient marketing efforts and few if any direct competitors.
On the other hand, if you take an average product or service, and maybe your ad copy is only medium grade, maybe your price is only medium grade, that I’ve actually seen these marketing campaigns go to the right targeted audience and pull a decent
response. The point I’m trying to make is, to help you understand the difference between the right target market and a good marketing campaign.
What can you do to make sure you get the right audience? You have to begin by knowing who your products and services actually appeal to. Then find the largest market that can actually buy your products or services or the best market that can afford to pay for your products or services.
You might find multiple markets. You don’t want to leave any markets out. You want to be sure you target a specific market tightly enough so you can appeal to their interest, but not so tightly that you don’t appeal to anyone at all.
If you have a product that appeals to multiple markets, you can develop multiple campaigns. If it’s a service business, that goes into the home, then you really appeal to many markets. A home owner that is a doctor, a homeowner that is a dentist,
a homeowner that is a business owner, you can target to these specific people and treat them as a particular market.
One great way to get into a particular market is to find a professional that is already in that market or is already a customer of yours and get them to be a cheerleader for you. Ask them if they will endorse you. Usually they will if they like your products or services.
For example, here’s a story about my good friend Janice, a letter she created.
Janice wanted to use her doctor as a reference for her business and she asked her doctor if she could write a letter from him to all of the other professionals in that market on their
letterhead in their envelopes and send out that letter on top of one of his sales letters. Shockingly, Her doctor said yes.
Her letter read like this; “I don’t do this very often, but I’ve received such good service from Dr. Blevins, I thought the rest of you should know about this.” And on with her message she explained the good service and at the end she left her business information.
The results were staggering and Janice Then gave her doctor a free gift. She bought Dr. Blevins a box of his letterheads being that she used theirs, and she sent her Doctor an organizer to put them in.
You see, what this does is it makes sure the envelope gets opened from her market because other doctors will open information on other doctors. Always give your niche some kind of position to help you increase your business.

Turkey …. Stuffing …. Cranberry Sauce …. Pumpkin Pie
This is usually what comes to mind when we think of
Thanksgiving. Granted the food is yummy and worth waiting for
however, let’s not forget another import aspect of this holiday
“Being With Family & Friends”.
Family & Friends, they are what make this wonderful holiday so
special, and help create those special memories.
Memories …. Everyone has them and each is precious. I love
being with my husband and two beautiful daughters, but I think
my favorite remembrances are from long ago. “Nana’s House” This
of course was my beloved grandmother, who has been gone from us
for many years, but will always be remembered with so much love.
Thanksgiving at her home was the best.
Our family is not very big but with the sisters, husbands and
cousins it seemed like an army. My sister and I looked forward
to spending the day with our cousins; we always had so much fun.
Of course the very best part of the day was when nana declared
“Time To Eat”. The first order of business was getting seated at
the “kids” table. Nothing special, just a couple of card tables
put together with a paper tablecloth - we were a bit messy - put
over them.
Then came the food, makes my mouth water now just thinking
about it. Please forgive me if I tend to sound just a bit
prejudice - everyone’s grandmother is a great cook after all -
but in my mind no one could cook like my “Nana”.
The amount of food was horrendous, as I said there where not
that many of us but you’d think the entire town was there by the
number of dishes on the table.
Everyone had their favorites, mine was the turkey & stuffing - I
always had a drumstick, and my little sis was a wing girl -
although everything else was good, except maybe the veggies.
After the main course came dessert - yummy - which consisted of
the usual pumpkin pie, apple pie and rhubarb - that was for my
mom - plus one of nana’s specialties “Apple Dumplings”. These
were hot from the oven with a lemon sauce poured over the top.
No one has been able to duplicate the recipe, although one of my
cousins - you know who you are - has given it a valiant try.
Now you may think this was the end of our eating for the day,
wrong. After dinner was complete, while the grownups were
cleaning up and then taking a rest - just their bodies, the
talking was non-stop - we kids - weather permitting - were
outside playing. A few hours later - not kidding - it was time
for the famous turkey sandwiches and any other left over you
might have a hankering for.
Of course as they say “All Good Things Must Come To An End”,
which meant it was time to leave.
After what seemed like an eternity of good-byes we piled into
our cars and headed for home. Little sis & I always fell asleep
on the way, thinking about our wonderful day, and dreaming about
next year.
Today our family is scattered across the country and sadly we
are missing some - although not in our hearts - but when
possible we still get together.
But on those November 27th’s when we’re not able to we still
keep our “Nana’s” spirit alive with lots of great food, a
tremendous amount of talking, and good fun.
So to all of you, no matter what your traditions maybe, enjoy
the day, the food, but most of all your loved ones. “Happy
Thanksgiving” From Savvy Home Decorating

My patients are always saying that they can’t eat healthy because they like to eat red meat. Well, I like eating a good steak as much as the next person and I do. I don’t eat red meat that often - probably about 5 times a month or so. I do eat leaner cuts and Dr. Gourmet recipes reflect these healthier choices.
Most people are concerned about red meat because of the fat and cholesterol and how it can affect their heart. This is important and eating leaner cuts with less saturated fat is key for a healthier cardiovascular system. There’s a role that red meat plays in cancer as well but we haven’t known all that well to what extent until now.
Researchers from the American Cancer Society, Emory University, and the National Cancer Institute recently published a report on the relationship between eating meat and the risk of colon or rectal cancer (JAMA. 2005;293:172-182). While this might not be news to you if you’ve seen other, red-meat-related health reports in the media, the important thing about this study is that it evaluates long-term meat consumption at various levels of consumption as well as focusing on the specific risk of rectal cancer, not just colon cancers and rectal cancers.
This study looked at 69,664 men and 78,946 women between the ages of 50 and 74 who were initially a part of another, larger study on cancer mortality that began in 1982. At that time they filled out a questionnaire with information on diet, exercise, medical history, and other lifestyle habits. In 1992 and 1993 another questionnaire was administered, requesting similar information, and then followed up in 1997 and every two years after until 2003.
In the questionnaires, respondents were asked to report on their eating habits for the previous year, estimating how often, on average, they ate a particular food or beverage per week as well as serving size (small, medium, or large). The researchers defined meats in three basic categories, as follows below. Note that Processed Meat is really a sub-category of Red Meat!
Red Meat
Processed Meat
Poultry and Fish
Researchers analyzed each volunteer’s intake of the three defined types of meats in various ways, including computing a ratio of red meat to poultry/fish in each person’s diet. They also identified five levels of red meat consumption, processed meat consumption, and fish/poultry consumption, then compared those levels of consumption with the number of actual cases of colon or rectal cancer found in the survey respondents.
After controlling for various lifestyle factors, including caloric intake, exercise levels, smoking, and the amount of fruits and vegetables consumed, researchers found that those men and women with a long-term high intake of red meat had an increased risk of rectal cancer of 43%.
Those men and women with a long-term high intake of processed meats, however, had only a 20% increase in the risk of rectal cancer, but their risk of other types of colon cancer rose by as much as 50%.
Finally, those who consistently ate the most poultry and fish had a reduced risk of rectal cancer (decreased by 19%), while the risk of other colon cancers were reduced by 23% to 30%.
It’s pretty clear from this study that eating a lot of red and processed meats for the long term isn’t going to do much for your health. That doesn’t mean you can’t eat red meat at all. As the researchers found that those who ate about equal amounts of red meat / processed meats and poultry or fish had no increase in their risk of colon or rectal cancers. That’s good news for those of us who like an occasional steak or good beef stew.

Dr. Gourmet has been an on-air consultant to the TV Food Network show “Cooking Thin” as well as a host on the DIY network show, “AskDIY”. In 2002 “The Dr. Gourmet Show” won an Emmy award.

Writing a book or creating a killer headline requires a special blend of imagination, inspiration, and knowledge. Whether the ordeal is like enduring a root canal or soaring on a cloud, depends on how upbeat you are. The fuel of creative vigor is enthusiasm.
It is practically impossible to create with a negative attitude. Unless you are excited about what you are doing it can be like climbing a mountain with lead shoes. If you are thrilled with your assignment, your motivation goes through the roof. You feel like you need to fasten yourself down to avoid soaring with the birds.
The obvious answer to being upbeat is to do what you have a passion for. We often think that we can go to school and learn to do anything we desire. The truth of the matter is that unless you choose something you have a talent for you will never be any more than mediocre.
Write when you are in an upbeat mood. Let your right brain set your imagination wild. Don’t correct anything. Just explore everything that thrills your soul. When you are finished, then resort to logic and common sense. Let your left brain take over and correct the obvious mistakes. It is good to write a little extra so than when you cut absurdities and repetition you will
have enough.
Everyone has frustrations that put them in a foul mood. Sometimes it seems that everything you do turns to mud. How do you recover from such low spirits? It’s time to take a break. I know of a TV technician that was baffled with several intermittent units on the bench. You may have to watch such things for days before they cut out. When this fellow saw what, he was up against, he said, “There is only one thing to do, go get a cup of coffee.”
When you get stuck on a tough problem, go do something you enjoy.
Sometimes you work on a stumper so long that your mind freezes up. If your brain is jammed with failed solutions and not responding, taking a break will reset it. Doing something else for a while and going back to it often lets you see what you were overlooking.
Successful people learn how to tell their minds what to think about. They refuse to listen to negative thoughts. This is not to say that they ignore their problems. If you are all negative or all positive, you have unbalanced thinking. If you are all positive, you may overlook the problems coming up and fail to prepare for them. If you are all negative, you don’t see your abilities to overcome obstacles. The trick is to think of problems without becoming negative. Think instead of the solutions.
How do you keep yourself fired up with of enthusiasm? Think about your successes and the great achievements of others. Read positive material. Count your blessings. Most of us ignore the tremendous power of our brains. We seldom take advantage of it. Think about where you want to be several years down the road, and how to get there. Turn your imagination loose! There are solutions you haven’t even thought of. Imagine dreaming up things that will make you rich! How do you think great inventions and masterpiece works of art came about? They were conjured up in the mind using the imagination.
Small dreams do not have the capacity to stir your soul. Set big goals. Reach for the stars! So what if you don’t reach them. You will still go farther than if you didn’t try. Success is not something that you achieve and then take it easy. Those that rest on their laurels soon find themselves far behind the leaders. Life is a journey. You have to keep thinking of ways to make more sales or improve whatever you do. That’s where your imagination and inspiration set your enthusiasm on fire. Don’t try to restrain it. Let it soar! Your creative vigor feeds on your excitement.
Give yourself time to dream. Sometimes you rule out solutions that seem far-fetched. Explore how to make them work. You never know when you will find a gem. Fortunes have been made by simply
finding a better way to do things. You don’t have to invent the wheel. Just make it run smoother. When you have a great idea, explore how to implement it. Simply finding a way to keep glasses from slipping down the nose could make you famous. As Napoleon Hill says, think and grow rich.
Fire up your imagination! Let your dreams inspire you to greater
heights! When your innovative juices hit warp speed, your creative vigor will soar in the clouds. Don’t forget that creation takes more perspiration than inspiration. It takes patience to make everything fit together. Roll up your sleeves and create a masterpiece
