Laser Hair Removal - Who Else Wants Smooth Skin And Less Hair?

Gepost door admin op 20/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Beauty Supplies

The removal of unwanted facial and body hair has recently become one of the most demanded cosmetic enhancements in recent years. This holds true for the ladies, as well as, for a greater and greater number of gentlemen. Excessive facial and body, according to the current dictates of acceptable fashion, is a big fashion turn off and no-no.

And so, for a number of reasons including vanity, millions of women and men, spend millions of dollars each year on enhancements, including laser hair removal, as well as lotions and potions, that promise smooth, satiny skin free of ugly, excessive facial and body hair.

Laser hair removal is a speedier, more gentle way to dispatch unsightly hair, with awesome results. In some cases laser hair removal can be permanent.

Laser hair removal uses accurately controlled energy pulses, (electrical and light with cooling), reaching deep into the roots or base of the hair follicles that lie within the skin. The pulses heat the hair, right down to the bottom of the root, destroying it without damaging surrounding skin or tissue.

Lets take a look at how laser hair removal works:

Human hairs are made up of 3 distinguishable components: the bulb at the root of the hair follicle that develops hair, the shaft, and the hair follicle itself. Both the bulb and the shaft are imbedded within the skin, leaving only the hair visible to the naked eye. For semi permanent hair removal, the hair follicle must be eliminated along with its germinating centers that are in the bulb. Hair can be destroyed only during the active phase of the growth cycle.

Therefore, because of these staggered growth cycles, patients usually require a number of treatments over time for long-term hair removal resolutions. Hair will continue to grow after your treatment. Anybody who tells you that optimum results can be attained in just one or two times under the laser is simply not telling the truth.

Here Is The Good News About Laser Hair Removal:

Laser hair removal is non-invasive which does not require needles or messy chemical creams.

It is a smoother, more gentle way to dispatch unwanted hair, with dependable results.

Since many hundreds if not thousands of hairs can be lasered in a single session, big expanses like the back and shoulders, legs and arms can be treated at one time.

Considered safe if performed properly.

Would You Like To Know The Boundaries Of Laser Hair Removal?

Exact rates and frequency on hairs growing back have not been precisely established and cannot be predicted.

Most usually laser hair removal is not as efficient on gray hairs and red or blonde hair.

It must be used very judiciously (if at all) on darker skin tones or on patients who suntan regularly. The shin could get discolored patches.

All in all the technology is getting better all the time and prices are getting more competitive. If it is what your heart desires…Why not? Indulge yourself. Don’t you deserve it?

Baseball Season: How to Prepare Your Child

Gepost door admin op 19/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Internet Sports Resources

Parents often ask me what their children can do to prepare for their baseball season. Because training is specific, they should be training for baseball 12 months a year. There are very few kids who are so gifted that they can be very good in several sports. Many children start training in one sport when they are about six years old and specialize in that sport for the rest of their competitive careers.

It’s hard to get in shape in one month, but there are several rules of training that they should follow. First it’s background before peaking. Before you can throw a baseball or hit a baseball hard, you have to throw and hit easy. If you try to throw hard in the beginning, expect to injure yourself. First you do background training by increasing the volume of your workload gradually for several weeks and when you are ready to start peaking, you decrease your work volume and increase your work intensity. So you should go out with your son or daughter and play easy catch each day and let him try to hit the ball is a specific place, rather than trying to hit the ball hard. He also has to jog slowly before he can start running fast. So every day, he should jog slowly for up to 30 minutes.

After a few weeks, he or she is ready to start training. The next rule, he must follow for throwing, hitting and running is stress and recover. On one day he throws harder, hit further and runs faster. On the next day, he should take the day off, or jog slowly, throw easy and hit short. He continues to have easy days for all three specifics until his leg and arm muscles feel fresh. If he is training properly, he should take two days of easy training. Then he throws hard, hits far and runs fast, and this is followed by a couple of easy days again. On his hard days, he may throw every fifth pitch hard, followed by four easy throws, and hit the ball hard once every five hits until his muscle start to feel sore. Then he must stop for the day.

Since baseball players almost never run hard more than 100 yards, his running training should be to run 40 yards fast, rest until he recovers and then run 40 yards again short of all-out and repeat the cycle until his legs start to feel stiff or hurt. If he can do these hard workout days once or twice a week, he can expect to improve dramatically. If he takes easy days every day or just plays baseball each day, his improvement will be minimal. Slow jogging will not prepare him for baseball and trying to run fast more often than twice a week will just injure him. You prepare for all sports by following two rules: “background and peaking,” and “stress and recover.”

Buying New Issues

Gepost door admin op 18/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Best Investment Options

Has your broker been calling you recently with the “great opportunity” to get in on a new Initial Public Offering? With friends like that you don’t need any enemies.

I don’t care how good this new stock offering sounds. The chances it will stay even or go up are about 1 in 3 and I don’t want to play those odds with my money.

Most of the new IPOs these days are from the technology sector. That is where the romance and big money has been, but the NASDAQ topped out on March 10 this year. It is a good idea to take a look at what has happened to these new offerings since that time.

The S&P500 Index has dropped only 3% since March 10 while the NASDAQ Composite has fallen 43%. Here are a couple of numbers you will want to remember for the rest of your life if you have any interest in the stock market. Sixty percent of the move in any stock is due to the category or sector it is in. Twenty percent of a stock price is due to the overall market movement and 20% is caused by the quality of the company itself. You can immediately recognize that even if you have bought the best stock it has only a 1 in 5 chance of going up if the other 2 factors are not working for you. Since March 10 the New Issues Index is down 67%.

With all the major market indexes in the sewer there is little hope for ever finding one of those new issues that comes out at $10 and runs up to $200. Those days are gone forever - at least in the technology field. The NASDAQ has a better chance of going to 1500 before it ever goes back to 5000.

For the next year, maybe longer, we are going to see the number of new issues dry up and almost disappear. And there are many other good reasons other than the overall market. In a new issue you have no idea how the company will perform. Will management make its projected goals? Is there any possibility of a profit? You have no track record for their price performance. Will the stock price trend up or down? The more of these unknowns you throw into the mix the less chance there is that the stock will go up.

Last year we had a raging bull charging through fences and tearing everything up and we all loved it. All we had to do was follow the bull. The bear has taken his place and is ruining the landscape. And you know what bears do in the woods. Be careful where you step - or put your money.

Meditate to Unlock Your Hidden Potential - Part 2

Gepost door admin op 18/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Online New Age

You can be the creator of your own manifest destiny. Through daily meditation practice and focus on changing your life for the better. In fact, you have the ability to redefine yourself in any direction you desire. The power that you can cultivate is limited only by your own imagination.

As I have mentioned earlier, this will change the lives of people who you come into frequent contact with. Therefore, you must always be kind, trustworthy, and considerate to others. You should make a change in that direction at this very moment.

Why the sudden need for character improvement? It goes hand-in-hand with using power and influence wisely. Remember Lord Acton’s saying: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The power of your mind has the ability to alter reality. Therefore, this is a power that must be controlled.

How is this possible? Here is an example: If you had two identical twin boys, who haven’t eaten for two days, and you put an apple in front of them; what would they do?

Most likely, they would fight over it, and the winner would eat, most or, all of it. You and I know they should divide it equally, but each of them has really felt starvation, and that is a reality you and I do not feel at the moment. So we are not talking about imagination, but three legitimate points of view, that each becomes our own reality.

Meditation will allow your mind to see multiple points of view, without judgment. If you can see only one point of view, you haven’t meditated long enough. The best leaders, negotiators, and diplomats, know that you have to understand the opposing viewpoint, to move forward, on any issue. There is always justification, on both sides, in any conflict, but true compromise is meeting the opposition in a different reality, than you both started from.

If you had the ability to travel in the space shuttle, your view of earth, from within your space vehicle, would be much different from the person living in poverty, within a refugee camp. You could not see, or feel, that person’s pain, and each of you would have a vivid picture of life on earth.

You can meditate from a mountain top, but once you have seen the full picture, you have an obligation to help mankind, with acts of kindness. Once you have discovered how easy it is to help others, you are no longer struggling with; “who is right and who is wrong.”

Your new reality becomes, “how can I help?”

How to Get a Sexy Six-Pack Stomach

Gepost door admin op 18/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Nutrition Parlor

Getting a defined six-pack is a simple equation. The key is your body fat ratios. You must have low body fat for your abdominal muscles to show. Otherwise, it won’t matter what you do.

Men need a body fat of 10% or less while women need 15% or less for defined abs.

So, how do you get to these levels? Well, the answer is different for everybody depending on your metabolism and body type. However, here’s a general guideline.

To increase your metabolism, it is best to eat smaller, more frequent meals every two to three hours. This will give you an instant increase in your metabolism, helping you to burn more calories all day long. In these meals, you’ll want to combine a good portion of protein with some low glycemic carbs. These are slow-burning carbs that help you to feel full longer.

Some good, low-glycemic carbs that will help you sustain your energy levels include:

dairy
plums
peaches

apples
oranges
pears
grapes
grapefruits
sweet potato
oats
and…. most vegetables (except for carrots, corn and root vegetables)

Carbohydrates are an essential nutrient that provides energy to the body and the brain. However, they are not all created equal. If you are looking to lose weight and gain muscle, you should avoid processed foods. These include pasta, white rice, fruit juice, crackers, sugar loaded fat free yogurt, cookies, pastries, white bread, chips, pretzels, bagels, sports drinks, soft drinks, and candy. This will help you reach your goal much faster.

Another powerful weight loss tip is to eat more protein. Almost no one eats as much protein as they should. Protein helps prevent a loss in muscle mass, keeping your metabolism high.

So, what’s the golden rule? Eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. When dieting, you can add on 50 - 70 grams of protein to that. This fills in the calories that are lost by cutting down on fat and carbohydrates.

Once you’ve gotten your diet in order, you’ll want to start abdominal exercises. However, you may be surprised to find that you should only work your abs every other day. This is because your muscles growing while they’re at rest.

Some of the most powerful ab exercises include bench crunches, hanging leg raises, pull-down crunches, swiss ball crunches, vertical crunches (especially on a swiss ball) and swiss ball side crunches. Using the swiss ball helps you work through a greater range of motion and activate more muscle fibers than regular exercise. To increase the intensity, bring your feet together while doing swiss ball crunches.

Here’s a super tip for you that many people fail to follow. When you are doing crunches, crunch up as high as you can and only come down a few inches. Then crunch back up again. You must keep the tension on the muscle. NEVER allow your abs to rest during a set, otherwise you are just wasting your time.

With proper cardio, a healthy diet, and abdominal exercieses, you should start to see your abs in as little as six weeks.

Secret Resorts in Germany — A Checklist to Find Them — Part 3 of 4

Gepost door admin op 18/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Travel Center

Ready for the third part? Ookay, here we go :-)

The Wellness Sector is one of the most important indicators for selecting the Secret Resorts of your dreams.

What do you have of it if the location is TOP and the facilities are new, but the Wellness Sector consists, lets say… only of a Sauna and a small pool? You might feel relaxed only superficially. The consequence: Grind is pre-programmed. A pool and a Sauna are not sufficient.

I for myself know by own experiences that some of those so called Secret Resorts only use their title, because they have installed a sauna recently, “and outside you have the freshest air in whole Germany” they write in their brochures.

So what?! Of course, fresh air outside is good. No doubt. You go out, take a deep breath and exhale. Do that a lot of times during your stay and it will give your inner cells and immune system a huge kick into recovery and health. And you know, I am not talking about ‘fresh air’ in cities but about real fresh air in forests regions.

By the way, visit our Black Forest and you know what I am talking about.

But, however, what has fresh air to do with the Secret Resort itself? You do not sleep outside, do you? There might be days where you mostly stay inside and let yourself spoil like a Queen/King. And you might not be able to it if there is anything but a Wellness Sector at all.

And most of all, why do they call their shack a Secret Resort with just a Sauna inside? What a cheek! You book, arrive and expect to be spoiled for the next three weeks, but all you get is a sauna and maybe ‘fresh water’ in a pool and fresh air outside. You deserve much more than that. And believe me, there is good news: it is possible :-)

Okay, what now comes is a checklist in a checklist :-)

You should find the following in a Wellness Sector:

1. Sauna - yes, but at least two, better four; with different temperature ranges and smells. A plus: if besides that another external area is present (for cooling). A health-scientific description of correct application should be present additionally. You surely would not like to terminate the sauna with a cold, but healthier than before, would you?

2. Solarium - just in case you want a tan additionally. I know people whose energy rose after an attendance in a Solarium. It’s not a must, but good Secret Resorts have.

3. Massage - here the chaff separates from the wheat. Relaxation starts with a good long intense massage. A hotel, which calls itself ‘Wellness’, MUST offer massage. Make sure the massage is held daily and in the house. It would be disturbing, if you would have to drive to another place. That way the relaxation of the massage treatment would get lost fast.

4. Pools - good Secret Resorts have pools. Ensure that the pools are not old. If you find different pools besides that with e.g. different smells, that is a plus - therefore very pleasant and relaxing.

Again, besides all that stuff, everything written here should be in-house! You don’t want to have to drive to a next town or village, do you?

Allright. We have covered a lot.

Look forward to my last issue on how to find awesome German Secret Resorts.

In that you will get to know what another indicator of good Secret Resort is, in terms of our Hotel Classifications.

Finally you will get an overall checklist which you can keep handy. It will safe you a bunch of time, trust me.

Anyhow, enjoy your trip(s)! :o)

The Psychology of Weight Loss: Part 6 - It’s Not About Numbers!

Gepost door admin op 17/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Medicine

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE NUMBERS!

The health clubs are always racking their brains trying to figure out why they have such a hard time keeping members coming back. Most owners would argue that cash flow and profit margins are the most important reason to retain membership. Yes, but what drives customers to these health clubs?

These owners have lost touch with what matters most, the customer! Give the customer more than they expect and they will continue to do business with you. Selling a product or service is about people more so than numbers on a spreadsheet.

SINK HOLES VS. POTHOLES

I want you to think of this principle in your workout. You know it is very easy to get burdened down with all the details of an exercise and diet program. While guidelines are necessary, at times focusing too much on the numbers can and will set you up for failure.

You may start to think all this counting calories, reps, and keeping track of heart rates are too much to accomplish. Unexpectedly, you start to lose sight of your goals and it becomes more of a job than a hobby or stress release. You may even quit exercising. This can be an immediate sinkhole for you.

It would be unrealistic to think you are not going to have some tough days. It’s hard getting in shape. It takes determination and discipline. More importantly, it takes looking over those down days to the end goal. Do not get too worked up about hitting all the numbers on the charts all the time.

The bigger challenge lies in the follow through. In order to follow through, you have to have a certain amount of PERSONAL FITNESS ACCOUNTABLITY!

IT’S BEING SOLD OUT!

The only way you will follow through on an exercise program is to be sold out. The military calls them “lifers.” These are people who are committed to something for the long haul. Are you a lifer? Could you be a lifer?

A lifer has a sold out mindset. He or she realizes that there will be potholes to go through; there may even be a sinkhole up ahead, but they get through it or they go around the situation. It may take support from others, but it gets done. You may not be a lifer today, but you could be if you don’t make changes now! Why do you think New Year’s Resolutions don’t work? Waiting to start a good exercise program begs the question, “Are you serious enough about it to begin now instead of putting it off till a certain time?” Now is the time to start. BEING SOLD OUT IS AN ATTITUDE OF THE HEART!

IT’S THE BIG PICTURE

Each of you is different. You will put into exercise a certain amount of effort and everyone will get something different from it. You cannot just package good intentions and say, “If you do this or if you buy that, you will receive this in return.” It just doesn’t work that way.

But, I will guarantee you this: committing to exercise and eating right will bring you nothing but positive and fulfilling rewards, both physically and emotionally. It could very well save your life some day. It saved mine!

A PROMISE THAT CAN NOT BE BROKEN.

I have bad days. I have good days. I have days I had wish I had never started exercising. I want fried foods some days. I eat fried foods sometimes. I want to take a vacation from it all. I take a vacation from it all. Yet, at the end of the day, some small voice inside reminds me of that decision I made many years ago. I can’t turn back even when I want to. I made a commitment to myself years ago:

Never be afraid to ask for help and realize every day to focus on the big picture.

What about you? Are you going to sell out to being miserable, achy, low energy, and suffer from low self-esteem? Or are you going to make a meaningful decision to get in better health? Let’s do it together.

In a nut shell:

While guidelines are needed, try not to get bogged down with the details. Make a decision to make exercise and eating right a priority in your life, even if it is not up to your expectations. Exercise and better eating will give back a very fulfilling life. But you have to keep your eye on the ball. Speed bumps and potholes will always be there in

Tips On Fly Fishing

Gepost door admin op 16/04/2008
Toegevoegd onder: Angling + Fishing

There are thousands of live-bait anglers, who are excellent sportsmen, but the fly fisherman can practice better conservation from the beginning.

Basically, fly fishing is not only one of the fastest growing sports; it is one of the foremost forms of conserving natural resources as well as providing aquatic recreation.

Fly fishing is, very simple when three things are right: you must have a suitable rod; you must get a line to match it; and you must learn correct casting technique.

For people who wish to know some tips on fly fishing, here is a list of some pointers that could help anglers harness their fly fishing skills:

1. Material of the rod

For one of moderate means, and especially for the beginners, hollow glass is advised since it will require less care than bamboo and will not take a set if improperly handled or stored.

2. Line

Your fly casting skill will not progress with a mismatched rod and line. About 99 times in 100, the troubled fly caster has a line much too light to bring out the action of his rod.

That is why it is important to know that on any given rod, the fly fisherman should use the same size line for anything from small trout and bluegills up to the largest sea fish.

In choosing the size line, anglers should get a C level, an HCH double-taper, or a GBF three-diameter. This choice is based on the fact that a high percentage of fly rods bought nowadays are hollow glass, and that a great majority of these works best with lines of those sizes, almost regardless of lengths or weights.

3. The correct casting technique

In casting, it is important to get about 20 feet of line out front. Anglers should always remember to cast a straight line. Avoid jerky movements even if it is on a faster mode in order to do so.

Best of all, the angler should be relaxed because taunt muscles will ruin his casting.

Boiled down, there should be no reason why you should not learn the fundamental principles just as easily as those who now enjoy fly fishing.

Probably, the best and surest way to learn to cast successfully is to spend a day on the stream with some fisherman who is a competent caster.

Lessons learned on the stream are the best tips you can acquire anywhere in your quest for learning fly fishing.

Jesus Christ, King of the Jews

In 132 CE, Simon Bar Kosiba organized and led a large guerilla army in revolt against Roman occupation. He succeeded in actually throwing the Romans out of Jerusalem and Israel and establishing, although for only a brief period, an independent Jewish state.

Jewish accounts describe Simon Bar Kosiba as being a man of superior intelligence who possessed tremendous leadership abilities and incredible physical strength. His success caused many to believe that he came from the line of David. He was nicknamed “Bar Kochba” or “Son of Star,” an allusion to the Book of Numbers (24:17). In fact, he was actually proclaimed the long awaited Messiah of Israel by the Sanhedrin. Strangely, very few people know of him or have even heard of him today.

But there is another Jewish son we have heard of. He was born poor and, like Kosiba, was also of the family of David. He, however, fought no battles, was not known for His strength, and virtually ignored the politics of His times. He never attended college, starred in any movies, or won any awards. Yet, His personality has somehow been fused into the very soul and consciousness of humanity. More books have been written about Him, more changes have resulted because of Him, more conversation and controversy has taken place because of Him than any other figure in human history. In His name, the apostles conquered the world. For His sake, martyrs sacrificed their lives. He is like a portent moving through two thousand years of history touching lives. Jesus Christ, King of the Jews!

The Teacher

He was an exceptional teacher,
Had received the highest degree.
From the College of Life Experience
He earned his Ph.D.

He taught what it meant to live
A life of self-sacrifice.
He was totally devoted to others,
Though He paid an exorbitant price.

He was one solitary life who
From a grace procured from above,
Sacrificed so much of Himself
Motivated by nothing but love.

He was wholly and solely committed,
Honor bond to set men free.
So He died on Calvary’s cross that day,
To redeem all humanity.

Yes, He was indeed “The Teacher,”
And “The Teacher” He will forever be;
For none who lives or has died
Can compare to such as He.
